State Star Quilts & Wall-Hangings - $25/ square foot

While any quilt may be hung these patterns are the most elaborate and complicated. The Wall-Hanging price includes backing, batting, custom top-quilting, binding, hanging sleeve, and showcase tabs. Patterns are selected with your guidance and with consideration for the lengths and colors of your ribbons.

Alabama Stars
<1. A cotton border was added so that some old ribbons could be pinned to the outside. >2. Really stunning with the black mixed in and the diagonal stripe border.

<3. Antique ribbons form a sweet little star, two simple and one diagonal stripe borders.>4. These stars are perfect for adorning with left-over rosette tops.
<5. A nice collection of older ribbons. >6. Polka-dot side streamers worked well as filler in the center of this quilt's stars and kept more precious ribbons from getting the chop.

<7. A Collection of Red, Blue, and Purple Agility Ribbons. >8. Alternating red and yellow make this one sharp.

<9. The yellow ribbons in this hanging are arranged to make the star more jagged. >10. A large star set diagonally with additional stars building the corners to make it 50" square. An impressive wall-hanging and perfectly functional as a sofa throw.

<11. When there aren't enough white and pink ribbons to create a consistant background it looks nice to mix in some bold red and blue.

California Stars
<1. An excellent display of vintage ribbons.
>2. Accentuated with 2" squares and a diagonal stripe border.
<3. Totally symetrical except for a hint of brown ( at many highly competitve shows even eighth is something to be proud of !) - Still the brown ribbon blends in well with the red.
>4. Fancy stitching, and stunning color arrangment of 1st-4ths.
<5. Blue border and central tab for showcasing a favorite rosette.Now I recommend pinning so that the rosettes will not be so missed if they are no longer desired.

Connecticut Stars

1. An amazing collection of antique "top four" ribbons.

2. 1st-6ths won by single horse.

3. Antique AQHA and Open ribbons with a diagonal stripe border.

4. Oversized center like a smart star extra small blades in the corners like a super star.

5. Patchy, due to the various colors and sizes of ribbons used.

6. A collection of Top 3 and Championship ribbons.

7. Has some (customer supplied) embroidered horse quote corners.

8. A collection of vintage ribbons

9. A season award from the 2005 Highest Horse Schooling Shows.

10. This one has slightly larger foundation diamonds similar to a smart star.

Delaware Star

Not as intricate as it requires a ration of about 5:4 long and regular length ribbons.

Georgia Star

This pattern is a nice, intricate one no matter how it is altered or adapted for your ribbons.

Kentucky Star

A great pattern for a wide variety of colors and ribbon lengths.

Maryland Star

Plenty of interchanging colors, two complex borders, a vast collection of antique ribbons, and bold use of red make this quilt a dramatic work of art. If you have ~1,000 ribbons to preserve borders similar to this can be added to any star wall-hanging to make it full-queen sized.

Alternating blades of blue, red, and yellow set this star apart.

Minnesota-Arizona Stars

The four types of blades for these two wall-hangings were made simultaneously and then finished differently for two sisters who hadn't kept track of who earned which ribbons. The slightly smaller star was finished with two borders, the first of which is comprised of the button centers the second is a wrap-around diagonal stripe, which actually make this quilt a little larger than the the first.

New Hampshire Star

Blades are 30 and 60 degrees instead of the usual 45 to accomidate an unusual mixture of long and short ribbons.

Six panels rather than eight to showcase a unique and impressive collection of long-only ribbons.

New York Stars

<1. In Memory of Laddy, who was loved and will be missed.

2-4. Slight variations of the same pattern and distinctly different color arrangements set these two wall-hangings apart.

North Carolina Star

North Star

This star has blades from two different states and displays a collection of mostly long ribbons.

Oklahoma Star

Despite the wide variety of colors used this star still tells the eye, "Hello, I'm blue! How are you?"

Tennessee Star

1. Inspired by the large number of white-center-streamer ribbons & wanting those harder to win to stand out from the white, I used the Kaleidoscope pattern to pair the white centers with their original side streamers.

Virginia Star
